After taking degrees in philosophy, Anthony did academic research in bioethics at the Anscombe Bioethics Centre. He is now Director of the Bios Centre in London and a visiting scholar in moral philosophy at the International Theological Institute.

Colin was a full-time carer for Alison Davis, a severely disabled woman, from 1989 until her death in 2013. From 1985-1995, Alison had a persistent wish to die and attempted suicide on several occasions, but she later became a noted anti-euthanasia campaigner. Colin is a speaker, writer and academic.

Formerly a Consultant Surgeon in General and Colorectal Surgery, David served as President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow 2015 - 2018.
