A new critique of Oregon’s Physician Assisted Sucide (PAS) law has been published in the Michigan Law Review (2008; 10(8):1613-1640). Avoiding any reference to moral or faith-based frameworks, Drs Foley and Hendin (experts in palliative care and the psychiatry of suicide respectively) explain why legalised assisted suicide is bad medicine and mistaken public policy.
